Primary Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Onsite Project EA Commitment Compliance and Quality Assurance. 
  • Subject Matter Expert for Fish and Fish habitat, habitat offsetting, Fisheries Act, Erosion and Sediment Control. 
  • Environmental team lead for Bald Eagle construction management, bear-human safety and injured wildlife. 
  • Assurance for site wide compliance with provincial and federal environmental protection legislation. 
  • Habitat Offsetting as part of the project’s Fisheries Act Authorization including candidate site selection, first nations and DFO liaison, biological sampling, subcontracted consultant management and permitting support. 
  • Co-management, coordination and quality assurance of third-party environmental consulting firm for a large scale environmental monitoring program. 
  • Support for stormwater and various other environmental and land use permit applications.

Mt. Milligan Mine Water Intake and Pump House Construction, Ft. St. James, BC – Environmental monitoring including instream site isolation, fish salvage, spill prevention and response, water quality monitoring and advice for instream construction of a pump house and intakes on Rainbow Creek for Mt. Trend Coal Mine Expansion, Tumbler Ridge, BC – Crew supervisor for environmental monitoring of a major coal mine expansion project including construction of 6 km of haul road, a large arch culvert stream crossing, water management system (creek diversions, sediment ponds and drainage ditches) over a 9 month period. Erosion and sediment control plans, water quality compliance monitoring, client and contractor liaison, project meetings, onsite advise, daily reporting and crew safety. Komie Road Upgrade Assessments and Environmental Monitoring, Ft. Nelson, BC - Assessment of 13 bridge crossings, environmental management plans, instream work permits, environmental monitoring of 4 bridge replacements including erosion and sediment control and habitat compensation works. Ealue Lake Resource Road Upgrade Environmental Monitoring and First Nations Training, Iskut, BC – Environmental monitoring and First Nations training for the Ealue Lake Road upgrades construction adjacent to the Klappan River on behalf of Royal Dutch Shell. Prophet River Winter Bridge Removal/Installation Environmental Monitoring, Prophet River, BC – Environmental monitoring and advice for the placement and removal of a multi-span winter bridge over the Prophet River floodplain (2006, 2007 and 2008). Employer: EDI Environmental Consultants. 

Cache Creek Slump Removal and Streambank Bioengineering, Peace River, AB –Responsibilities included supervision of heavy equipment for instream slump removal, rip rap placement and streambank bioengineering on the DMI East Haul Road. Akie Mainline Extension Environmental Monitoring and Fist Nations Training, Tsey Key, BC - Environmental Monitoring and First Nations training for the construction of the 8 km Akie Mainline Road extension for the proposed Akie mine site.
