Erosion & Sediment Control
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
Rob Heibein has developed a specialty in erosion and sediment control from knowledge gained from training and a wide range of valuable experiences including:
- Private sector field assessments and preparation of erosion and sediment control plans in locations with very challenging climates and soil types in BC and Alberta. Inspection and implementation of erosion and sediment control during numerous land based and instream construction projects;
- Stormwater management including support for effluent discharge permit applications and compliance conditions, construction of small to large scale stromwater infrastructure, water quality treatment systems (flocculants and filtration systems) and dewatering;
- Reviewed over 400 referrals for works around fish habitat as a habitat technician and applied the federal Fisheries Act habitat protection policies and legislation as it relates to erosion and sediment control for construction. Specialized training in sediment effects on fish and fish habitat, inspector and fishery guardian during field investigations regarding the discharge of elevated turbidity from construction and corrective actions issued in the form of Inspector’s Directions;
- Products, methods and principals of preventing erosion and controlling sediment including establishing vegetation on disturbed and exposed sites.
